Critical Illness Cover

Critical Illness insurance, also known as Trauma insurance, is designed to help employees, and their families manage financially, if they were to face serious illness or injury. It provides a lump sum payment for a range of defined medical conditions that can help cover whatever is needed, like taking care of medical treatment and rehabilitation costs, or mortgage payments and other household expenses, so an employee can focus on solely on recovery.

You can choose to provide Critical Illness cover either as a stand-alone benefit or add it as an accelerated benefit to Life Cover. Accelerated means that in the event a claim is paid under the Critical Illness benefit, the amount of Life Cover will reduce by the amount of the Critical Illness benefit paid.

  2. they are no longer eligible for cover under the plan; or
  3. their benefit is reduced or cancelled; or
  4. the plan is cancelled

Additionally they may be provided with continued cover during the application period.
